Recently I was introduced to the world of meditation. I, like many of you, thought that meditation was some sort of hippy garbage derived from the far off land of India and was generally not useful in any context other than having people sit and stare at absolute nothingness.

I could not have been more wrong.

Meditation has been a game changer for me in my personal life. With my neurological disease, I have had physical ailments that have been cured by medical cannabis, but my mind was still left out in the open. With meditation I have found a way to heal not only my body, but also my mind. Surprisingly, I also found that marijuana and meditation go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Let me explain why.

Many people who practice religions that specialize in meditation will say that marijuana is a waste of time, no good for you. I say that medical marijuana helps make meditation more palpable for me, in that it gives me the opportunity to calm my body before setting in for a long session of meditation.

Because my body spasms randomly, my ability to achieve the best possible meditation posture is gone. I cannot completely sit up, and my legs do not fold completely. I have resorted to doing meditation while laying down, and even then my body is no sure thing when it comes to spasms and pain.

However, when I use medical cannabis, a lot of these symptoms are alleviated, and I feel like I can sit and zone in for hours without risk of cramping or seizing up. Not only that, the calming effects of marijuana make it easier for my mind to slow down, and I can actually get into meditating in a much more efficient way.

For those of you open to meditation, I fully recommend it. The practice is deeply enriching and it really does go together well with medical marijuana. Loads of information on the topic are available for reading online.

Look it up. It will be well worth your time.
